On April 23, 2019, the entire academic community of the Akademi Sekretari Budi Luhur commemorated Kartini’s day. This activity was held in the courtyard of the Human Resources Building, Universitas Budi Luhur. Akademi Sekretari Budi Luhur students wear kebaya as a form of appreciation to Raden Ajeng (R.A.) Kartini as a champion of women’s rights. This activity also invited Akademi Sekretari Budi Luhur’s Director, Ms. Fenti Sofiani, S.Pd., M.M., Head of the Study Program, Mr. Achmad Syarif, S.T., M.Kom., lecturers, and staffs of the Akademi Sekretari Budi Luhur.
This activity took the theme of Astri and The Enchantment of Kartini “The Spirit of Kartini Creating Indonesian Women’s Creativity”. This activity was attended by all active students in the Second Semester of Academic Year 2018/2019, namely 2017 and 2018. This activity was guided by Nabila Putri Herdiana and Miranti Aftiani as the MC of the event, then began with the opening by Ms. Fenti Sofiani as the Director of Akademi Sekretari Budi Luhur, continued by Eka Mas Purwaningsih as Chair of the Committee. This activity was one of the programs of the Himastri Student Organization (Secretariat Student Association). This activity was filled with a selfie competition and fashion show for students of Akademi Sekretari Budi Luhur. The judges from this competition were the lecturers namely Ms. Reni Hariyani, S.E., M.Akt., Ms. Iis Torisa Utami, S.E., M.M., and Ms. Saskia Lydiani, S.Pd., M.Psi.
The winner of the Selfie competition was Ardelia Bunga Larasanty (1st place); Yani Safira (2nd place); Zalfaa Adelia Fairuz (3rd place winner), Annisa Rahmayani (1st place winner) and Ajrina Mahjati Palupi (2nd place winner). The winner of the fashion show competition was Riana Ayu Septyanti (1st place); Khansa Xaviera Zalva (2nd place); Iqhlima Imelda Wulandari (3rd place), Firzah Sulesta (1st place winner) and Titania Shalsabilla Aria (2nd place winner).
To further enliven the event, it was filled with entertainment from the Astri Dance Club Student Activity Unit, Ega Tamara Putri, Anggi Dewinta Putri, Yani Safira, Rizky Nur Insani, and Nurul Korin Deskanya. They brought dances with a combination of traditional and modern music.
This activity was a manifestation of the appreciation of the noble values inherited by R.A. Kartini as a female figure who fought for women’s emancipation. For the Akademi Sekretari Budi Luhur itself, these values are in line with the efforts to continue to develop Brain, Beauty, and Behaviour for students of the Akademi Sekretari Budi Luhur as a young generation who are the successors of R.A. Kartini.
